New breast implant and cancer link…opinions?
I seen on the news yesterday that the FDA has apparently found a link between all types of implants and a rare form of blood cancer.
I’ve had my implants for going on 4 years, and had planned on having them removed in a couple years anyways, just because I don’t want to have to keep replacing them.
My question is, for those who have breast implants, what is your thoughts on this whole “finding”?
For those who were planning on getting implants, will this change your mind?
I know that just about everything is supposed to cause cancer, whether it be talking on a cell phone, using a tanning bed, being out in the sun, or even drinking water, so I’m trying not to worry too much about this, but I’m still a bit nervous about the whole deal.
First of all, everything does not cause cancer, we don’t know what causes it.
Second, there is nothing new about this information and it is not a blood cancer they are referring to. It is a rare type of lymphoma and we have known about it for years. Having implants does not cause cancer. Having them does increase risk for this disease, but it is miniscule and hardly newsworthy.
SUSIE Q: It is a recent news story today. Entertainment Tonight is even in on it and interviewed a doctor I worked with. They are referring to anaplastic lymphoma which is a very uncommon cancer.
